What you say here makes so much sense to me and to why my life has been the way it has been. What an eye opening blog to our brains. I tend to always trust the negative thoughts to rule my brain because they have always taken up residency. Their lease is up! Like the parenting analogy...I am a parent and I can so relate to that one. Thanks!

I'm sending this to my brother. He can never shut his brain down.

Wow! Thanks, Bob, for sharing. Really makes you take a step back and think. Very timely. Again, thank you. :)

I'm beginning to realize that my Cognitive Contact Lenses were put in by my mom (not placing blame. ;) ) and I think what I have always believed to be MY thoughts and beliefs are really hers. Problem? Yeah...I LET them become mine. She has always had "instant entrance". My way of thinking has been Passive up until now...I'm switching to Focus...but the things I focus on will be MY choice - and not what I've been seeing for all these years. I choose NOT to Surrender anymore! Welcome to Day #5 of my journey. ;)

Bob, one of the lenses that has most changed my life and thinking and relating is that of trust vs. fear.

If I see or go into a situation with fear, the results in my brain and actions are one thing. If I go into it with trust (or faith) they are another.

Wisdom is what tempers the reaction to the faith or fear....so I don't end up with blind trust, or panic when neither are healthy. It helps me to trust, when I am resting in God-ness. And then the most possibilities seem open to me.

I'm so glad you linked your blog on your Facebook status. I really needed to hear (read) this post. I'll be working on passivity and focus. I much too often use the "auto pilot" excuse to not exercise discipline over my thoughts. I also need to be more deliberate and focus my thoughts instead of relying on the trusty crutch of "bad memory".

Bob, the blogger extraordinaire! Lots of good words here--I especially like the focus part (the name remembering part I can really relate to). Deliberate choice of focus is such a needful thing. Thanks!
