Want to get to know God? Step outside and look around. Since the beginning, He’s been drawing pictures of himself and flinging them within reach of us. He wants us to know He is BIG. He invents Mt. Everest. He wants us to know He’s creative He makes a coral reef (or a platypus, or Australia in general). He wants us to know He is vast, He speaks a solar system into existence, and then stacks them across the Universe.
Still not enough. He wants us to know how He feels. He makes men and women. And Marriage. This helps us feel what He feels. The passion, the draw, but also the struggle of loving someone who is very different than you. The hope for response, the joy of re-connecting, the pain of separation. He feels these things, so He lets us feel them too. So we can know Him.
He is in love. With you. So He puts in front of you someone your heart yearns for.
He flings pictures and experiences down to Earth with the hope we will examine them and find Him. Step outside. Look around.
Someone has picked up these pictures and painted the teeth black, and put ugly hair on them. Someone wants you to see God other than He really is. Someone knows if you really see you too will be in love. Step outside. Look around. See.
“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities — His eternal power and divine nature — have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made…”
